6 Reminders to Help You Post Confidently on Social Media
Oct 09, 2024We’ve all been there. The post is ready, your finger is hovering over the ‘Share’ button, and suddenly you feel a wave of self-doubt. “What if I look silly? What will people think?”
Believe me, I get it. That’s why I’m sharing six reminders I tell myself whenever I feel cringe about putting myself out there on social media. These reminders don’t just push me through—they keep me grounded, empowered, and grateful for the opportunity to share my voice.
1. I post because I can.
There are so many people around the world who would love to have the freedom and privilege to share their voice but can’t. So, I honor that privilege every time I post.
2. Nobody knows my story like I do.
I’m not an imposter. I’m the expert of my own life, and I speak from a place of experience. My story is mine to tell, and I’m more than qualified to tell it.
3. I am more qualified than I think.
I’ve lived, I’ve learned, I’ve grown. That qualifies me to share what I’ve experienced and to help others who might be going through the same thing.
4. If I don’t show up for myself, who will?
I am responsible for creating my own opportunities. If I let fear hold me back, I’m only hurting my own potential. This is my life, my voice—so I take ownership of it.
5. I refuse to live with regrets.
Take the risk, or lose the chance. I’d rather look back knowing I gave it a shot than wonder what could have been.
6. It’s okay to feel uncomfortable.
Growth isn’t easy. Feeling uncomfortable means I’m learning something new. There’s nothing wrong with me—it’s just a part of the journey, and the only way out is through.
If you ever feel self-conscious about sharing your story, remember that you’re not alone. These reminders have helped me, and I hope they’ll help you too.
Let’s show up for ourselves and embrace the journey.
Warmly,
